Referral & consulation

Typically you will be referred for a cardiology specialist opinion by your GP or by another consultant. We do request that you obtain a referral letter from a health professional before contacting our administration team for an initial consultation with one of our Consultant Cardiologists.

If you are privately insured, you should contact your insurance company for authorisation for the consultation. You may need further authorisation for additional tests so please liaise regularly with your insurance provider at each stage of your treatment. In some instances, you may need to pay an excess on your policy, or make payment in full if you have run out of cover.

We regularly see patients who wish to pay for their own consultation and treatment. Our administration and finance teams can discuss the associated fees for consultations and cardiac tests. Payment can be made on-line by visiting our patient portal, BACS transfer, debit or credit card (including American Express).
