Dr Andrew Kelion MA, BM BCh, DM, FRCP
Consultant Cardiologist
Dr Andrew Kelion qualified as a doctor from Oxford in 1991, where he later trained in cardiology. He was Consultant Cardiologist and Director of Imaging at Harefield Hospital for 11 years, before returning to a consultant post at the John Radcliffe Hospital in Oxford in 2013.
Dr Kelion is Clinical Lead for Cardiac Imaging in Oxford, and has a particular interest in nuclear cardiology and cardiac CT. He is well-known nationally as an advisor and educator and is a past President of the British Nuclear Cardiology Society. He has previously chaired the Secretary of State for Transport’s Honorary Medical Advisory Panel on Driving and Disorders of the Cardiovascular System and the Imaging Council of the British Cardiovascular Society. He has written many research papers, guideline documents and books, including the Oxford Handbooks of Nuclear Cardiology and Cardiovascular CT.
Dr Kelion sees outpatients with symptoms of heart disease, such as shortness of breath, chest pain, palpitation, dizziness, blackouts, and ankle swelling. He also offers cardiovascular CT for Windsor Cardiology patients at the Princess Margaret Hospital in Windsor, and nuclear cardiology investigations (mainly myocardial perfusion imaging) in Oxford.
