Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement
Introduction
Complete Cardiology is committed to the highest standards of ethical conduct and integrity. We recognise our responsibility to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking within our organisation and across our supply chains. Although we are a private cardiology practice operating on a relatively small scale, we take seriously our duty to ensure that all individuals associated with our services are treated with dignity, respect, and fairness.
This statement is made pursuant to the UK Modern Slavery Act 2015 and outlines the steps we have taken—and continue to take—to prevent modern slavery and human trafficking.
Our Organisation
Complete Cardiology is a private cardiology service with an administration office based in Maidenhead, Berkshire. The organisation provides outpatient consultations and diagnostic tests. Our workforce consists of consultant cardiologists, cardiac physiologists and administrative personnel.
Given the nature and scale of our work, we consider the risk of modern slavery within our direct operations to be low. However, we remain vigilant regarding potential risks within our supply chain.
Our Supply Chain
Our supply chain primarily includes:
• Medical equipment suppliers
• Consumable providers
• IT and software service providers
• Professional services (accounting, legal, HR)
We expect all suppliers to uphold ethical labour standards and comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015.
Policies and Commitments
We have implemented the following policies to support our commitment to preventing modern slavery:
• Anti Slavery and Human Trafficking Policy
• Whistleblowing Policy enabling staff to report concerns confidentially
• Code of Conduct outlining expected ethical behaviour
• Safeguarding Policy for vulnerable patients and individuals
These policies are reviewed annually.
Due Diligence
To mitigate risks, we undertake the following due diligence measures:
• Assessing new suppliers for compliance with labour and human rights standards
• Requiring suppliers to confirm adherence to the Modern Slavery Act
• Reviewing high risk categories such as cleaning, waste management, and consumables
• Maintaining long term relationships with reputable, accredited suppliers
Risk Assessment
We consider our overall risk exposure to be low due to:
• The professional nature of our workforce
• The regulated healthcare environment
• The limited number of suppliers we use
However, we recognise that certain sectors—such as facilities management and consumables—may carry higher inherent risks. We monitor these areas more closely.
Training and Awareness
We provide training to relevant staff to ensure they:
• Understand the signs of modern slavery
• Know how to report concerns
• Are aware of our policies and responsibilities
Training is refreshed annually or when policies are updated.
Monitoring and Continuous Improvement
We are committed to strengthening our approach by:
• Reviewing supplier compliance annually
• Updating internal policies as legislation evolves
• Enhancing staff training and awareness
• Documenting and investigating any concerns raised
